Uncontested or undisputed cases are where both parties reach a full agreement before the firm is hired. These are only possible when the other party is willing to accept service of process without the necessity of a process server or constable, usually with the signing of a waiver of service, and the other party review the Petition (the document which starts a suit), and signs an agreed decree or court order.
Usually, if the other side hires an attorney, the case is no longer undisputed, but sometimes agreements can still be reached.
Children’s matters and property division may increase the cost of even an “undisputed” case.
